Tarahumara Mother & Child

These very shy and private people are from the Sierra Madre of northwestern Mexico . For over 2000 years they have lived in caves, under cliffs, and in small wood and stone cabins in remote areas. This baby will grow up running great distances, with a 70 mile run viewed as normal and not out of the ordinary. Their language (Raramuri) is described as very beautiful because they speak it softly, gently and lovingly. In the Tarahumara world, this is the way that one person speaks to another.
