Norwegian Mother & Child - Norge This mother and child in their traditional dress may be a rural family who are on their way to the occasional planned community gathering. The women’s bodice and apron display intricately drawn-threaded work. Married women wear a specially folded white headscarf. The boy wears a typical waistcoat and breeches. Norwegians are lucky enough to have one of the longest life expectancies in the world, with the average woman to be 80.7 years old. Maybe it’s because seafood is so readily available. Norway also has a strong system of social services, assuring all with medical care. This child will be required to learn English and at least one other language. Education is free through the university level.
